I'm going to begin by saying what day it is today. It's the 9th annaversary (was that spelled wrong? I think it was...) of 9/11. The darkest day in my country's history.
:'( I just thought that I would add that people here don't know how lucky they are to be here. Even if it did happen. Let's not make a national holiday of this day. Because it is no happy occasion. And when you think of "holiday" you think of costumes and presents and good food and cheer. But none of that comes with this day. And it never will. Time will heal the people affected in any way by this tragedy, but on this day, it all comes back. This should not be a horrible day. This should be a day to remember everyone who died on 9/11/01. I wasn't very old when this happened, only in kindergarten, but I remember getting checked out from school and going home. I don't live anywhere near NYC, but, you can never be too careful. I remeber my teacher was crying and didn't want to tell us what happened. Don't be afraid to tell people, no matter how old they are. We reacted like adults. When I went back to school the next day, everyone was sad. Now, I'm going to finish this post by saying that our country is strong and people take it for granted. And that nothing like this will ever.... ever... be able to get by again.
